Happy Feet

So I posted the pic of Mumble yesterday and here is the cake finished. I was not happy with it at all. The lady's husband picked it up and so she called me personally (we had only been talking through emails) to tell me how much she loved it! I was shocked. I think when I envisioned it I saw it my mind with blue fondant but the lady didn't want a fondant covered cake so I did the buttercream. I would have liked it better in fondant I think.

Thanks ya'll! I just wish the cake had turned out better :( I know now how I would rather have done it but too little too late!

How can she be disappointed?!? He is SUPER cute and I knew he was dancing right away! How big is he to go on a 10" cake?

He is 4" tall and he is 4 1/2" inches wide from the tip of his toe to the tip of his opposite wing. I think he'll be okay size wise on there. I am also going to put some white fondant under him dusted with pearl dust to represent ice and the blue cake would be the ocean.

His head was just a ball of white that I shaped. I used the blunt end of my wilton "pointy stick" and dented where his eyes are then used the pointy end to poke the holes. I dabbed blue color in there and then painted the black. I shaped some red into a beak and stuck that onto the front and painted the outside of it black.

You crazy lady! LOL, seriously, it's adorable. Mumble is super cute and the blue icing, ,fondant pearls and ice floe work together perfectly. I hope it's grown on you. It's great!
