Pleated Drapes/white Flowers
Hi! This cake was a dummy cake, but could easily be made out of real cake. The bottom was a petal pan with fondant pleates, the flowers are all gumpaste, white dendrobium orchids and gardenias. It was one of my favs. I had this idea floating around in my head, and just had to make it! The vase is sugar with a pressed lace pattern over the ourside. I was lucky enough to have it be on the cover of the May ICES newsletter - 2007 :-) Thanks for peeking! Jennifer Dontz - traveling teacher
wow......i give you a perfict 10 .
Those are so beautiful! :)
The most beautiful cake I've ever seen, bar none!!! How did you do the lattice effect on the sides?
Stunning cake. Just gorgeous. Deserves to be on the cover.
I have this one saved as my computer wallpaper, it is so perfectly done.
Another of my very favorites of your work Jen.
Absolutely gorgeous!!!
Thank you! The lattice effect is achieved with the plastic cover from a florescent light fixture. Go to Home Depot or similar store and look at the large rectangle flor. lite covers, it's just a plastic sheet. You can score and break it down. You roll the fondant out, then dust lightly and place the sheet on top and rub - easy! Jen :-)
This cake is so beautiful that words fail me.
