3D Hello Kitty

3D Hello Kitty on Cake Central

This was supposed to be 20 servings but it ended up pretty huge! Probably feeds over 40. Yikes! I got carried away I guess. I had to make a stand for it to support the head so once I did that I had to go with it. I also wish the bottom of the dress looked neater...but overall I think the customer should be pleased enough tomorrow.

Yes the head is edible all except the bottom inch. The feet are cake and the hands are just mostly cake carved from the main body, and then I added an extra lump of fondant before covering the body.

Thanks all! It really was fun..the lady was not sure if she wanted to get that elaborate or not and I really wanted to try it so I offered free delivery to help her decide. :-)

Those who want directions, I put a 1" dowel screwed into a base and put a ready made wooden oval on top. Under the oval attached some foam board for the chin...wrapped the entire top part so its safe. Then cut design out of stacked round 9" and 10" cakes. Have fun!

Thanks all! I just used 8" and 9" round pans and carved the shapes...and used an inner stand to support the head.
