I love "present" cakes...this is awesome...I'm going to attempt my first one this week

I tried one of these whimsical cakes and it just took me forever to cut the whimsy triangles. Suggestions as to how to cut production time? Any cutters I can use?

I did the triangles by cutting a pattern piece out of parchment paper, rolling out the fondant and letting it dry a bit, and then cutting them out with a palette knife. It took forever, but it seemed to be the only way that worked.
