Christmas Ornaments

Christmas Ornaments on Cake Central

I covered the cakes with fondant, and used royal icing to decorate. I want to try again, using a different icing for covering. It was really difficult with the fondant, and trying to get it to look right.

they look great! I love them! what pan did you use? We have an ornament exchange for our bunco club and I would love to make these for everyone.

I think they are great. They caught my eye right away. I would like to know what pan you used as well, would like to give this a try myself!!

What different icing could you possibly use that would be easier than fondant? These look perfect enough to hang on a tree!

I have been on the wilton site for days trying to find out how to make these, saw some in their contest. Yours are awesome, so could you please tell us how you did them. I couldn't find out on the other site, but I know we all are friendlier on this one.Right ?

I used the Wilton mini ball pan to make cakes. Put the two halves together with buttercream icing. I then covered them with a layer of buttercream, and then with a layer of fondant-rolled as thin as possible. It takes several minutes of working it with you hands to get smooth. I found it impossible to smooth out all of the imperfections, but once decorated, they don't show. I used royal icing to decorate. I made the ornament tops by hand out of fondant. Once the icing hardens, paint using lusterd...
