The board is wrapped in birthday wrapping paper. I posted the whole drama about having to change it. The cake was actually posted last night with the description, but the stand it was on broke. Hence the hot pink cake board.

What an awsome cake. So elegant. Love the colors. I'm also curious about the sides. Is that a chocolate wrap?
The sides are fondant. I made up the colors and rolled out the fondants to 1/4 inch thick and cut into thin strips. Then I arranged the strips in alternating colors next to each other. I used a rolling pin to roll them out thinly so the fondant was large enough to cover the cake surface, then applied it to the cake. By rolling the strips close to each other, the strips will stick together.
