Red/white Layers/sea Shell

Red/white Layers/sea Shell on Cake Central

Hi! This cake was for a fun couple who was having a splash of seaside decorations :-) That is why the little open chocolate shell is at the bottom. The bow is gumpaste. Thanks for peeking! Jennifer Dontz

Khym - I like to make my bows out of gumpaste because they are stronger and dry faster. I figure if they want to save it, that product will hold up better in time than fondant.

Will you please please tell me how to get red fondant this red. Mine turns out pink and if I keep adding red it just ends up looking yukky. Help!!!

Pounds6 - I started out with some red satin ice and added some red merkins candy clay to Pettinice - kind of a mixture. I may have added a little Americolor, too. Jen :-)
