Satin And Lace Wedding Dress
This is one of two dummy cakes I made for an event I was asked to participate in. Josh Groban is performing tonight and a local radio station is doing a wedding theme in the VIP tent! I made cakes for tasting as well. This one was covered in ivory fondant, has white lace appliqués, fondant bow, gumpaste broach with fondant pearls. I topped it with a gumpaste lace "head piece". This was molded from lace appliqués formed over a small half ball pan. When it was dry, I added fondant pearls btwn connections.
Hey ladies! thank you for all the wonderful comments! I put a lot of work into this one! The bow was actually really easy to do. I made each of the loops and let them dry completely. Then I dusted them with a mix of super pearl and blue sparkle. Once they were colored, I glopped on the royal icing to the backs and stuck them on the cake. To make sure they didn't slide I propped them up with skewers. When the R/I dried, I added the center to finish the bow. The tails were made and stuck on before the rest.
