Are the cones stuck down into the cake? And are the cakes single layers?

The cakes are single layers, but the bottom of the cone is actually cut off. the only cone that is pushed into the cake, even a little, is the tallest pillar in the back! If I did this cake again, I would have made the cakes a little bigger with layers. This cake looks so flat to me now.
