My nephew made this for his school fair cake competition. He worked hard and didn't have much help from his mum, but unfortunately the judges weren't as impressed as we were.
Oh and by the way the family dog managed to get into the kitchen and eat the whole thing this morning, so the poor kid didn't even get to eat any of it!
thanks for your nice comments, he will feel much better hearing them. We have tried to help him be gracious in defeat but couldn't help feeling like it was unfair when we saw the winners. We think they must have decided a kid couldn't have done it on his own!?!? I've uploaded a photo of the cake my son made (Lion) he was in the same contest with the same result. I hope they both keep trying!
Well he did an awesome job of that well done for him... but i know the feeling as my daughter enterd her 1st one in 2005 and did get 2nd but was because noone believed she did it on her own too and she was 12 at the time.. if only they all knew
