In album: two-tier
This cake was inspired by the Colette Peters style donut cakes. I love the process of carving the cake and painting the fondant. To save time, silk flowers were used. Tanks for looking!

Beautiful. What type of cake do you use to ensure it won't crumble apart? I'm always scared to try these kinds of cakes b/c I'm positive it will be a disaster!

It was just a normal red velvet cake. I always freeze the cake before I carve it. This helps alot!

Very, very pretty! Do you mind if I ask what size cakes they are?

Thank you all for your kind comments! The cake was not very big. It was a six inch round on top of an eight inch round.

Wow, that's really neat. You fondant board really sets it off nicely too.

Beautiful! What's in between the tiers? I would love to try this, but need more direction.

Great job carving. I love how you marbled your fondant covering the cake board. It looks nice.
