Calla Lillies

Calla Lillies on Cake Central

My first calla lillies. Made for my granddaughter's wedding cake. I'm pretty happy with my first try, but next time I will roll the gumpaste a little thinner. I also need a veiner. I just used a needle tool, but a veiner would make them more realistic looking. Thanks for looking.

Thanks! Actually, I found these the easiest of all the flowers I have tried so far. You just need an Arium Lilly cutter, or you can make a template from cardboard. Make the stamen out of yellow gumpaste and insert the wire and let dry. When it's dry, you paint the upper 2/3 with glue and roll it in sugar or cornmeal. The cut out the flower portion, ruffle the edges and wrap the left side, then the right side. Voila! It's done.

Be careful. If you make them anymore realistic looking people might think you picked them from someone's garden! Those are fantastic!! Beautiful work!
