Marine Corps Birthday

Marine Corps Birthday on Cake Central

Inspired by CreativePastries and also by a post by SugarBlossomCakes where Doug told where to buy the mold for the EGA emblem. Thank you to all three. The Marines really loved this cake. This was a full sheet 18 x 24. Half chocolate and half white with raspberry filling. My first time using luster dust and I love it!

I love it! It had to have taken a long time and a lot of gold luster to paint the rope! It's just so pretty! I may use that idea for my next military cake! (with your permission of course )

I did take quite a few hours on this cake, the luster dust actually went a long way I was surprised. Of course, be my guest using the idea and again thanks to those who inspired me.

Very well done! The EGA is wonderful and so is the plaque you placed it on! Did you start and stop your rope in the front? It's hard to tell!

Thank you. Yes unfortunately it did. I was using a tool that didn't make very long rope strands. But I think it came out pretty good.
