Cake Ball Tower
I made this for my husband's 40th birthday party this past weekend in addition to his surprise oreo cookie cake. This was all done in the same weekend I had a wedding cake that served 300 people. Needless to say, I threw this tower together at 11:00 Saturday night not worrying too much that the styrofoam was showing (next time I will coat the cone with chocolate first). Seeing the styrofoam really bothers me!
What an awesome idea! I love it!
This is really cool I've never tried cake balls before this inspires me to do so
those look great!!!!!!!!!!!
Great job!
very nice - did you make the truffles yourself, because that's the biggest work of all?
Ellistwins...yes, I made all of the cake balls a couple of weeks ago and froze them. That was actually not all of them, people had already started eating them before I took the picture.
What a cool idea. This is awesome...even if you did just throw it together.
Looks really neat - what a great idea.
great idea!! Did you use cake balls or truffles??

Beautiful....This looks great even with the styro in the back. It's just like a croche-en-bouche cake.
I think it looks awesome! When I make my cupcake trees I cover the styrofoam with foil. Looks great though!
very cool idea. looks fantastic!
Looks delicious.
Very nice job!
Very elegant! I bet it was a hit at the party!
Thanks everyone!!!! They are homemade cake balls. Chocolate Fudge, Chocolate Mint, French Vanilla and Carrot Cake.
Really neat! I wish my "throw togethers" looked this good! From the pic, you don't even know it's styrofoam - could be a silver background!
What do you coat your cakeballs with? They look great!
Thanks so much for your compliments! Merissa - I used the Ghirardelli Candy Making and Dipping Chocolate. I can't find it at stores right now because I bought mine in bulk at Sam's Club during the holidays last year. So, I am hoping they come out with more before I run out.....It is a seasonal item.
What recipe did you use for the cake balls?
lmn4881 - I'll PM you. I have several varieties I make.
This looks great... at first I thought they were choc. dipped straw. I guess you could do that too. Yum how ever its done.
looks so yummy I want to just dive in
Very Nicely done... could do this with so many themes. Did you attach with toothpicks? just wondering
Thanks everyone! Phat...yes, I put a toothpick in then pushed my cake ball on, then repeated until finished.
