Gymnastics Cake
This cake was SOOOOOOOO much fun to do! I'm finding that I love using MMF more each time I use it, as I become more comfortable with it. The cake itself is a 1/2 sheet yummy milk chocolate cake with andes mint pieces mixed in...icing is vanilla almond butter cream. Gymnast, stars, uneven bars *REALLY uneven if you look! LOL* are all fondant and painted with pearl dust. I used a #16 star tip to do the gym mat. This was so much fun!!! Found inspiration from an unremembered site, so can't take credit.
that is adorable! I love the "mat" and the little girl!
Thanks dydemus...do you even love my "elephant man" legs on my little girl? LOL. My DH went on and on about her steroid use. LOL. Thanks for the compliments. I'm tickled with it.
This is so very cute!!! The little girl looks like she just had a perfect landing!
what colors did you use to make her ivory?
Flesh color...it's in the Cinderella color kit that I just happened to still have on hand.
This cake combines 2 of my passions - gymnastics & cakes! What an absolutely darling cake! Great job!
I am new to this web site. What does MMF stand for?
MMF=marshmallow fondant

I used gumpaste tools for the facial features. The eyes are beads from the crafting/jewelry section at AC Moore. HTH...
May I ask how you made the cute facial features? Thanks in advance!
