great cake! I'll start looking through the collete peters books I don't have so I can find it in there. love your cake, I thought it was fondant---your buttercream is perfect!

Looks great. As to the question of how it was done, it seems it was carved to shape and since it was iced in buttercream, it must have been either chilled or let to crust and then either an impression mat was used for the markings or it was hand quilted. It was then airbrushed. The fins look to be gumpaste, hand molded to shape and airbrushed.

Will you please share your instructions. My dad would love this cake!! I often tell him that he is gonna turn into a fish b/c he stays on the pond more than he stays at home. AWESOME!! 8O
