3D Gravedigger

3D Gravedigger on Cake Central

This request was a lot of fun. I used Boweens Gravedigger as a starting point and had some fun doing it. This customer also gave me a theme and serving amount and let me have at it. Cake was half white and half orange creamsicle covered with white buttercream then covered with Black colored orange flavored MMF. The orange flavor complemented both flavors really well. Wheels were Rice Krispies covered with BC then Black MMF

This is grea!! Is is sitting on a box? What are your accents/words done in? I would love to know more about how you made this cake. Sizes, etc...

Thanks for the great comments! The cake is sitting on floral foam covered in Freezer paper. I baked one cake that was 12" x 18" and divided it into thirds then stacked it. I do have pictures that I will post in a topic. The accents and words are done in a form of royal icing. I tried a new recipe someone on CC had come up with that is suppose to be similiar to sugarveil icing. HTH

I always color my MMF when it is the melted Marshmallows, before adding the PS. It takes a lot less work, and I get a much truer color coloring the melted MM.

Love it, trying to make one also for a nephews birthday, Can you tell me what brand and name of green you used? The green color is exactly right. Is it Wilton?
