Barbie Cake

First attempt! LOADS of inspiration from lots of pics on here. She's a real doll, in brownie cake, using a dolly varden and a further circle underneath. Covered in fondant, with fondant, ribbon roses and silver ball accents. This was harder than I expected for a first time cake, probably cause I didn't do a simple skirt, but felt the need to add the panel! Surprise birthday gift, b'day girl was bowled over. I was very pleased for a 1st attempt!
wow, that is great.
Excellent! How long did it take you?
wow, that is beautiful and very detailed! Great work
This is simply amazing.
Excellent work! I love the strapless dress with the scarf. Very creative! Haute Couture.
ameena - basically one evening baking, one evening doing main decorating, and then an extra hour to do some touch ups like the scarf. So probably like 10 hours including baking time, whew that's tuckered me out just thinking about it!
beautifully executed!!!
This is one of the best ones I have seen. Plus I need to do something like this in a few weeks...maybe I can borrow alittle from your design? This is beautiful!
Thanks guys, I made a deal with myself to not point out any of the flaws I could see, it's been a huge success! kcw551 - of course borrow away, I usually try to credit people but I took some many ideas from so many different cakes that it wouldn't fit in the description! :D
Very pretty, nice detailing. You've done a lot of work- good on you.. ;-D
Well done! Wonderful job for your first attempt. Very pretty.
realy Beautiful
You really did a nice job, what did you use for the impression
Thanks! I used a diamond impression, I think it's the Marion Frost one and the lacey shawl was an FMM one, I just recently purchased a whole bunch of new embossers and lace impressions etc and I forget which were Marion Frost and which were FMM. :D
Very pretty doll cake. I'm sure the little girl was thrilled with it; what little girl wouldn't be??
what can i say?....but oh wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
