Mini Fondant Gift Box Cake

Mini Fondant Gift Box Cake on Cake Central

Okay. First of all, thank you to "peacockplace" for the inspiration from her stacked gift box cakes. This is my first MMF and my first gift box cake. It's only about 3 1/2" by 3 1/2". It was a lot of fun, but I have trouble getting all of the excess powdered sugar off of it. I also wanted to do a bow and ribbon, but I couldn't figure out how...so I used Duff's method for fondant roses. I like it enough, but I hope to do better next time.

Yep...it's all cake & MMF. The top is cake on a cut-to-size cake board. I used straws for the dowels. I leveled a loaf pan cake and cut a perfect square. Then I cut the top off of the square for the top piece, put it on a cake board covered in contact paper. I got two squares from the loaf cake...I'll post the other one if/when I do it!

The first time I tried mmf, it made me cry.....you did awsome! To get off the exess sugar, get yourself a blush brush and wipe away. These blush burshes are also great for applying luster dust for a really cool effect. Can't wait to see more mmf cakes from you!
