This is the smash cake I made to go with the monkey cake for my grandson's first birthday. It is chocolate fudge with buttercream frosting, with hand painted details.
Thanks for the kind comments. I took a banana and laid it on a piece of paper and traced around it for my pattern. Then I cut the banana out of the cake. I trimmed the edges at the angles like a banana. It is frosted in buttercream and smoothed with a Viva paper towel. I put my colors on a plate and watered them down and painted the ends and added the dots, using the real banana as a guide. Then I painted on his name.
