My first attempt at roses. Made of rolled buttercream. They need some work, but I didn't think they turned out too bad for my first attempt.

It's similar to fondant, but tastes sooooo much better, it has the flavor of buttercream icing. Here's a link to a recipe on this site. I use a recipe that I found in Wilton's forums though. (...)
