Double Birthday Cake

Double Birthday Cake on Cake Central

This was for my BF's mom and sister. Their birthday's are just a few days apart and we went out one night to celebrate both. Each is a single layer hex pan. Flowers going down three sides. I off set each tier to be in a spiral stair pattern, but with only 3 layers it wasn't much of an effect. The birthday girls loved allt he flowers (they really like my frosting!)

This is also my first attempt of cropping/combining my pictures together. I was a little frustrated, but learning photoshop to do it. Not to bad for my first try, just took me way to long! Next time I sweet talk my BF into doing it for me again!

Very pretty. I have been lusting after the hax pan set. I love the flowers and the offset layers.

Thank you for all of your nice comments. This was actually one of the first cakes I did after about 6-8 month break from decorating, It's great to hear the encouragement. It looks like about 25 roses, and quite a few rose buds. I don't have detailed enough pictures to count the rose buds. I didn't count them as I did them. I just made them and placed them on until I got the effect I liked.

This is a lovely cake! You do very nice work. I especially like that you decorate more than one side. I like my cakes to look good from all perspectives. This one certainly does. Good work! Oh, I also like how you cropped in pics of each angle for the post. Great for inspirations!

Thanks CarolAnn, I think this is one of my favorite cakes I have done out of buttercream. I love making buttercream roses, they are so quick for me and I can do so much with them. I am like you, I want a cake to look good from every angle. Someone can always see a different side so it is a challenge to me to keep it looking good all the way around
