In album: blue
I did this cake last weekend for a friend of a friends bridal shower. I used 4", 6", 8" pans. I wasn't sure the design would come together when I was decorating them seperately, but when together I was happy with it over all. The Bride to be was surprised and loved it so I was happy.

I had a problem with my cake sliding on my cake plate on the way there, I have to figure out a better way to secure it next time. I moved it a little closer to center when I arrived so it wasn't so obvious.

Very pretty. I agree that the design all came together very nicely.

This is very nice. I like it, especially the blue ruffle on the bottom tier. Is the bottom tier on a cake board? If so, just place a piece of that foamy shelf liner underneath it!

Very pretty! How did you get that cornelli lace on the sides? Great job!
leily 7/30/05 at 3:09pm
Thanks for the compliments. I did the cornlli lace on the sides the same way as the top, I just keep my tip almost touching the icing so that the lace will attach to the base ice. Thanks Cakemommy-i had thought of that also. There is a board underthere b/c I want to keept he stainless steel scratchfree. I am sure the cardboard is why it slid, not enough friction to stay in place. I will try the shelf liner next time.

You could also just use a few pieces of tape folded sticky side out to secure the cardboard to the tray. Adjust the board before allowing the full weight of the cake to come down completely onto the tray.
