In album: make-up
This is glam bag for another little girl. Cut and stacked 9x13 with tie dyed batter. Iced in BC with fondant decorations. They didn't want edible pearls, so I used some fondant flowers and piped #3 bc dots. All items in the bag and the lips are candy melts I colored myself with icing gel. Third time for this cake, so I am getting a little faster at it (thank goodness!)

I can't wait to try and make one of these for my daughter and friends, maybe a Thanksgiving weekend activity. I would also like to know about the color gel and candy melts. One of the best cakes I have seen here!

Sorry if I misled any of you. I meant that I colored the candy melts with the same gel colors that I use to color icing with (Americolor). That's how I got some unique colors like coral colored glasses and the funky blue comb. To do it, I melted the chocolate in the microwave. Added a couple of drops of liquid vegetable shortening and then added the color. I learned that the color needs a fat to adhere to otherwise your gels will seize when you add it. Thanks for all the compliments!!

Hi, did you use chocolate molds to make your candy melt cosmetic and purse shapes, and if so, can I ask where you bought them and who they are made by? Thank you!

Sorry...it took me a bit to go dig 'em out for you! I have three molds that I use. Two of them must have come in a pack together. They are by Wilton. Pattern is called "Girl Power". Numbers on it say 2115-1604. The other one (hairdryer, rollers, comb & brush have # 90-14668 CK on them. I am sure I bought it at the local cake shop and my guess is the CK is CK Products. Good luck...HTH!!!
