In album: mountain
This is a cake for my husband who loves his mountain bike. It is a 8 inch madeira covered in orange bc with mmf on top. I normally use shop bought fondant and this was my first try with making my own mmf. I found it a bit stiffer than the fondant I normally use but I think I will improve with pratice. Everything is edible except for the toothpick I used to hold the bike up. The bike is made out of flower paste and painted with colouring paste. The path is crushed cookies.

Nice job... My husband is a mountain bike fanatic also... saving this pic! Is the mountain bike and rider made with 1 piece of fondant painted?

The cutter suggests using mexican paste, which I didn't have, as it goes harder than fondant so I used flower paste. And yes it is one piece painted. Thanx for the comment.

Adorable and very original.

The bike is made using a cutter so Patchwork Cutters must share some of the glory.
