Very pretty - please tell us more about your spray bottle method....I've never heard of it before and obviously it works great!!!

Thank you! Yes, the frosting is buttercream made with half shortening half butter; I use a spray bottle filled with water to get it smooth.

i love these cakes. i'm looking for my daughter's first birthday and these were the invitations that we used. very cute idea!!

Thanks! Delaware- I use a spray bottle filled with water to spray the surface of the cake after I put the buttercream on. Just spray the top of the cake and use a spatula to lightly smooth it. Then do the same thing on the sides of the cake. Hope that helps!
