Birthday Cake For A Friend...and Good Practice!

Birthday Cake For A Friend...and Good Practice! on Cake Central

I am proud of myself!! I am very new to decorating, (only been at it about a month 1/2). This is the first cake that I've done where I just stood back and said..."wow"!! Maybe I'm getting the hang of it after all!! Thanks to everyone who posts pictures in the galleries, they are such an inspiration. I saw a cake like this in one of the Wilton magazines, put my own spin on it. Chocolate cake with chocolate hazelnut buttercream for a good friend's birthday...and for practice! :)

You SHOULD be proud of yourself! It looks GREAT! Your ising is VERY smooth looking, and I really like the way the swirls are made out of dots! Your flowers look great too! Pat yourself on the back! You did a fantastic job!

WOW what an exquisite cake. You are going to be one heck of a decorator if you've only been doing this for 6 weeks or so. The icing on the cake is smooth as glass and the beadwork is so uniform. The roses on top add more elegance. Fantastic job.
