My First Gumpaste Carnation
This is my first gumpaste carnation. Let me just start by apologizing to all those women/men out there that can make carnations. "Oh how your talents have been underestimated!" lol This was maddening! I still am not happy with it. I can make roses now til the cows come home but have blood,sweat, and tears into making a silly carnation. LoL! there should be a disclaimer! Anyways here is my lame attempt. A gal ordered it for a upcoming wedding cake. To be fair I have warned her already lol
You did just fine! Carnations are NOT as easy as everyone makes them out to be. Can you use a lighter dust on the edges? May give the blossom more depth...just a suggestion
Thank you. Yes I agree that would probably work better. The dark is due to the fact that I started out with a darker gumpaste and decided to go lighter. Won't make that mistake again! lol Thanks for the suggestion
