My First Cake
This is my first cake. No classes. I watched a dvd and read a lot on the web. The two top layers are cake. The rest are dummies I iced. This was my wedding cake (renewed vows 15 years married). I ran out of time and couldn't do the leaves on the bottom layer. We forgot the flowers and so we didn't do the fountain. Everyone said cake was very good and moist. Some things happened I didn't expect, but that was just lack of experience. I am happy with how my first came out.
Great cake! I'm curious how you filled in the seams?
I took frosting and covered the seam. Used viva papertowel method to smooth it. It took me a long time. A lot of frustration.

Very nice for your first cake!!! Did you ice it once it was stacked, there are no seams between the layers that I can see?
I did use a cutter. One of my mistakes was frosting before I stacked. I had to fill in. Thanks for the encouraging feedback :-)
