Satin & Pearls

Satin & Pearls on Cake Central

Ivory BC icing with white BC overpiping and a GP bow painted with super pearl dust mixed with vodka. The pearls are sugar dragees in graduated sizes, also dusted with dry super pearl dust. I used impression mats to form the quilting and the vertical lines on the sides. The satin base was made from instructions from Earlene Moore. It was a nice touch.

Beautiful in every way! I love the incorporation of traditional techniques with more modern looks. Your bow is spectacular!

Fabulous cake. I have been looking for the impression mats like the ones you used, where did you find them?

I got the mats from Earlene's Cakes. earlenescakes.com. She is an amazing decorator and her site has some great ideas. You can also get them from globalsugarart.com.
