Curious George

Here's my daughter's 3rd birthday cake. It is the first time I have let my kids help me - they did all the bananas and then I painted some of them after we had clued them on. What a great cake and we had so much fun!

So Cute! Were the bananas made out of fondant? I did this same cake earlier this year, but I like yours a lot better! (lol)

yes it's all fondant - and yes I did make curious george - he's SO cute ... fortunately nobody got to him so I have saved him and he's sitting on my window sill in the kitchen looking at me when I do my dishes :)

I'm going to use this idea, but I dont have your patience to make all those little bananas. I think I'll buy the candy banans (like in Runts)

hi marciastewart - really it doesn't take that long making the bananas - it just looks like there is a ton of them - the cake is covered in yellow and with a banana on top it looks like its all bananas!

WOW i was going to make a curious george face but i really like this idea. how did you make him? i think i could do his body but don't know how to do the face.
