Orchid Heart Cake

Orchid Heart Cake on Cake Central

I dont know how the photo turned out...looked a bit red to me...ouch! Set up at a Yacht Club in a window (not my favorite place) 3 full layers of heart shaped, and 1 2" layer as a base, with their initials on it and gum paste Orchids and ivy.

It's just beautiful.. I love the design on the side of the cake .. did you freehand them or did you have a pattern press or something else you used?

the scrollwork was done freehand with the initials A, C and hearts...different variations of the letters too upper and lower case and such

I didn't even notice the A's and C's until you mentioned it, just thought they were all hearts. What a great and original idea! (I have never seen that before) Your cake looks beautiful! You did a great job!

Beautiful cake. Your scroll work is awesome.I would have never thought to use a thinner layer as a base.. great idea and it looks fantastic I will have to try that sometime. I agree with cakemommy this is as good as the ones you see in Brides mag or Martha Stewart weddings.
