In album: tiered
This was my first stacked cake, and final cake for Wilton Course III. I just happened to take it to school on Bob's birthday, so it became his birthday cake! Inspired by the cake in the Wilton Tiered Cakes book. Buttercream with Satin Ice fondant accents. (OOOPS, sorry it's sideways!)

I love this! It's very cute. You did a great job. Daisies are my favorite. We were not encouraged to do anything like this in my Wilton class!

Thanks! I chose this one because I liked it, and because the day before class I hadn't started making all those fondant roses we were supposed to have! Luckily our instructor was very nice and let us do whatever we wanted, as long as it had two tiers.

Lovely! I like the stripes--cool colors, too.

It's beautiful! How did you make the flower bouquet on the top?
slejdick 10/25/06 at 6:42pm
THanks! The topper is made of fondant flowers and leaves, attached to wires with candy melts. It's all wrapped together at the bottom, and stuck into a section of push-in pillar inside the cake, so the wires wouldn't touch the cake that was to be eaten. There's a close-up of the topper in my photos also.
