Sweet 16

Sweet 16 on Cake Central

This was a really fun cake to make, and it went much better than the last TT I made. I had to transport this cake fully assembled b/c the dad was meeting me halfway...so this cake travelled for 2 hours and held up fine! Phew!! The top tier was a dummy tier, with a "16" on the top.

I love this cake.....especially the colors. Did you do it the way it is in the tutorial or did you just stack them???

That is SO beautiful. I can't wait to be able to do cakes like this, but I can't even get fondant down yet.. hehe I might have to stick to character cakes. All of you are so very talented.

Thanks everyone!! I followed the tutorial here on CC but after I cut the angle on the top I didn't flip it over and use that piece which I think helped to keep it more stable on top and give it a sharper edge. I ran two sharpened dowels down through the middle tier into the very bottom board and then I had a third dowel that I put through the middle tier's board and then I stuck the top cake on top of that.
