This is the cake I did for our big 4th of July party. I was going to make it a topsy turvy cake but didn't have time to experiment!! The uncle sam hat was an experiment to begin with. It's not perfect by any means, but everyone liked it! The whole cake was WASC and red velvet layered so when you cut into it, it was striped.
