I used 28ga. wire on each ribbon then twisted the first 5 together one at a time. Then the remaining just twisted around the first 5. Then I left about 2 inches of wire and wrapped in floral tape and just poked through top of cake.

Thanks! I let it dry for over a week. I was afraid it would sag. I broke two of them putting it together but I had made extra just in case!
