can you tell me your secret on the different types of leaves, I would love to make this one this week.

I found a tutorial on the Wilton site for mums & asters. The mums are the smaller flowers, asters are larger. The leaves are a maple and an oak from a Wilton cookie cutter set I found at Hobby Lobby. I just pressed into the icing, outlined, and filled in with stars. (I have a scarecrow in my gallery that shows them better) If I had it to do over again, I would have outlined the leaves with a darker color & filled in with the lighter colors to make them stand out more. Everything is buttercream. Just the regular consistency I use for everything else. I've never used fondant yet. Have to try that sometime soon.

Thanks! That was thanks to a calligraphy class that the local high school art dept held. And a toothpick to sketch before the frosting hits the cake!

Yes, the ribbon is laid on top with a touch of bc to hold iti n place. If you look close, you can see a few mums on top of it to anchor it down.
