Beautiful, how did you make the swirls so gold?

i used the gold/silver piping gel recipe on this website and i used more powder sugar to make the gold go further!

i put the ribbon on maybe 5 min. after applying the gold and it didnt really smear it, and i didnt move it after i put it on. Thanks!
