Blocks
I was very disappointed with this cake. Everytime I try to do something with a chocolate cake and any weight whatsoever, even if I use dowels, it falls in. My chocolate cake is so moist it just can't take any weight. From now on, it's pound cake in my chocolate cakes when it's going to have any weight. The blocks were perfect until I started trying to stack them, just like the smash cake, it was fine because there wasn't any weight added to it.
They're very nice. Perhaps if each block was on its own cake board and then doweled you would have less squishing. :D
I agree with the chocolate cake being too moist. Mine was also hard to crumb coat! Thank goodness for fondant accents! (By the way, I really love your user name :wink: ) I still think your cake came out very cute!
