Yellow Roses

This was my first wedding cake. I'm an amateur decorator and had never taken a class or had any instruction--I just learned from books and the internet. I've done two wedding cakes since, but this one's still my favorite. Covered in fondant with royal icing detail and gum paste flowers.

What do you use to secure the ribbon wrapped around the cake? I want to do this on a wedding cake but have never done it.

I put the ribbon on after stacking the cakes at the location. I just secured the ends with a dab of royal icing.

It's a three-tier cake. The roses and tulle on the top are stuck in a styrofoam dome.

I just love it! I might try to duplicate it for my brother in law. What size pans did you use and are they double?

Thank you! I used 14-10-6, 2" deep pans--double layers. So each tier is about 4 inches tall. I made all the gumpaste roses on the top on toothpicks. I used Wilton Buttercup Yellow paste color for the roses and the fondant.
