This was and anniversary cake I made for my friends parents 50th. It is iced and decorated using bettercrream icing. You have to keep it a bit cool but it is very easy to work with.

I have a wholesale wharehouse near me that has an outlet store that sells the bettercream in quarts like milk only frozen. I don't use it for very many cakes but when someone asks me I use it. I can also buy it at the retail groceries around me. It is more expensive that way.

wow, I am very impressed with how smooth you got it and how great your roses turned out. I use to work with bettercream and I always had problems with it, even with it cool. I guess I am just a buttercream girl! Great job!!!

I have worked with bettercream alot in the past. I worked in retail bakeries for 8 years as a cake decorater. Much different than taking your time at home. It is all about production. Most of the orders were for bettercream (called whipped cream in some of the stores). I have had a lot of practice using it.I like decorating at home much better.

NONE of the local bakeries here will sell it to an individual .. If I ordered any, it'd be ridiculously expensive .. I have had several people ask for it, but I just have to tell them I can't do the bettercreme :(
