Bassinet Cake 1

I would like to thank dinkadoo for taking her time to give me advice and tips in making this cake...I saw a photo in her gallery and was in total awe...couldn't wait for the opportunity to make one of these cakes myself...Thanks dinkadoo!!!

Bottom layers are white cake,one layer is pink the other layer is blue, (the mother to be doesn't know the baby's plumbing yet)...the round/hood layer is pineapple cake with a pineapple cream cheese filling and the entire cake is iced in butter cream icing..the blanket,bear,ducky and rattle are fondant and the roses are gumpaste..I used the baby shower invitation as the inspiration for this cake.

I cant find a way to PM you it keeps telling me member does not exist..Hope you read this, The cake feeds about 50 and I used a 10' cake cut in half for the hood and 2-11X15 sheet cakes trimmed down for the bed.

I had to have my daughter hold it with a pillow on her lap,its really heavy and I had 3 cake boards under it, the hood is secured on with skewers as dowels...other than that it traveled well and without a single problem and took me about 40 minutes to get to the site...I was worried but everything worked out great. :)
