i did this as a dummy cake for the bakery window, someone had ordered it in the fall so i was practicing... then the bakery decided to close without tellin any of us.. so i practiced for nothing.. lol
this was in a magazine.. i forgot the name of it .. but it was on the cover.... i added the bow to the design.... and i think my comment bout the practice for nothing is coz im irritated... after being out of a job for 2 months, waiting on them to reopen after"reconstruction" i find out from an outside source 2 days ago, they auctioned off everything and put the shop up for rent.. the owners never contacted us to tell us... sorry for goin on a ranting spree.. lol
Great job! What a horrible story, though! That would be so frustrating. I'm sorry you have had to go through that. I'm sure you'll find something better soon. Hey, why not just start your own? :)
In my opinion practice is never for nothing. I love this cake.. Now is the time to start your own business. It is evident you have the ability. Find the people that wanted the cake and do it yourself. GREAT JOB
oo i do cakes from home all the time.. for the past 2 months since my shop was "remodeling" i had at least one wedding cake every weekend sometimes 2... and next week i got 3!..but its not steady work after the summer... so job hunting i will go :P

the design could also be used with some modification for a christmas wedding beautiful cake
Awesome! Hope you got the dummy back. Did you use perma ice.
its royal icing..... i did it at work.. but i took it home to get pics.. and they said they wanted it back.. yeah right.. i dont think so :)
Beautiful and adorable at the same time!
I wouldn't consider it practice for nothing...it is a very pretty cake, maybe you can still make it for somebody one day.
Love the colors and design--and veejaytx is right--practice is never wasted, only makes you better.

Nice work! Is that gumpaste? If so, what colors did you mix to get the nice red?
