One Large Wedding...

One Large Wedding... on Cake Central

Here is the main bridal cake for one of my large weddings. It was this cake... the hunting groom's cake, and EIGHT sheet cakes!! YIPES!! I noticed when I downloaded the pix to my computer that the lights were shining off the serving pieces and making white marks on the cake. That's what those white spots are if you notice them. It's in all the pix. Bummer!

I'm making my son's wedding cake. They want a square tiered cake too. They're inviting 400 guests. What sizes and how many tiers would you recommend?

Well... she sent out invitations to over 700 guests, then there was an 'open invitation' to all members of three adjacent towns. 8O She was going to order four more sheet cakes, then at the last minute decided that if people showed up and the cake was gone... they shoulda got there earlier!!

Well, the Wilton Yearbooks all have a guide in the back that tells you how many servings you get from each tier, that's a good place to start... you could make 8, 10, 12, and 14, that would serve about 260 roughly, then whatever they want for a groom's cake, then make up the rest with a few sheet cakes. That should work well!

You guys spoil me. I'm going to start thinking I am talented if you aren't careful... then no one will be able to stand me! Kidding!!!
