Made this for a couple's combined 60th birthday. They love cruises, obviously! Madeira cake, buttercream filling and the rest is all sugarpaste and royal icing, except for the little flags and thread.

I've been away on holiday, so only got your questions now. I've not used a pan, I did it by hand. I baked a madeira cake and cut it into lengths. I used pictures of a real cruise ship to guide me. Good luck!
