This was my first purse cake--just for practice. Thanks to everyone who helped, especially boonenati and briansbaker! White chocolate cake covered in MMF...all decorations are in MMF also.
Thanks everyone! I learned alot from this cake, especially what i will do differently next time! The handle is a piece of posterboard covered with fondant (it's the only way I could get it to stand up) I used an 8 in square pan, cut the layer in half and stacked...actually I used layers from 2 pans. There are 3 layers of cake total. Then I just carved it to the shape I needed. It was actually not as hard as I thought it would be!

WOW, looks great!! well done :)
Love the colors - also like the fact that you used a flap - don't need to mess with the zipper then!
Edibleart-ha! you caught me! That's exactly why I did the flap---no zipper!
Very nice, can't wait to try one myself! It reminds me of a Victoria's Secret bag!
Great job! I look forward to trying one myself! How did you make the handle and what size pan did you use?
wow. thats great for your first purse. I love the detail.
