Fire Engine

Fire Engine on Cake Central

Here's how my fire engine turned out. I of course borrowed Elaine's (The Cake Wizard's) great idea. I didn't have time to buy your kit. But I appreciate the inspiration. It turned out a little short, but I suppose it's O.K.

How did you get such a great red? I try but it turns out pink. Love the cake!! My husband is a fireman and I would love to make this but it would look funny pink.

Your cake came out lovely! Looks terrific! And your red is a nice deep color. Your decorations all came out perfect. As for color questions above, I used Wilton No-Taste Red and I used plenty of it, probably a whole jar! And I added a touch of burgundy to darken it. It looked pink at first but by the next morning it was deep red as my photos also show. Very nice job, SaraCakes. I'm glad my work inspired you to do such a fine job!
