This cake was made for a lady who was celebrating her 50th birthday. The only thing I was given to work with was the color purple. White cake with vanilla buttercream, mmf accents and bow. Thanks to everyone on CC who posts such beautiful photos of cakes.

Thanks for all of the wonderful compliments. I have a TIME getting my icing smooth. I start by using the icing tip then use a sptaula to smooth out seams. I use a large bench scraper to smooth out icing. Then follow that with a hot bench scraper (dipped in boiling water). I put that in the fridge for a couple of hours and touch up any areas that may need it later (if the icing is white.. if it is colored I dont do this because the icing may darken differently- learned the hard way!!)
