Brightly Colored Flowers

Brightly Colored Flowers on Cake Central

These cakes were for a coworker's family reunion, where they were also celebrating a 40th birthday party. They wanted the 1/2 sheet cake to be simple, so I put 48 flower on it so that each piece would have a flower. The half sheet is actually two quarter sheets put together -- one white and one chocolate.

I'm really terrible at freehand lettering, so what I do is go to my computer and print out the wording on a piece of paper exactly what I want it to look like on the cake. Then I take a pin and poke hole in the paper in the letters. Once my icing has crusted, I gently lay the paper on the icing and just slightly rub. It leaves an impression I can follow to do the lettering. I use this on almost every cake and it works great!
