Bridal Gown Buttons on Cake Central

Fondant covered tiers, with GP bow and royal icing buttons. The buttons and the bow were painted with pearl dust mixed with vodka.

Lovely! I have a similar cake to do in a few weeks, with a bow on top and the band flowing down the cake. Did you also use gumpaste for the band? And also how do you place it on the cake without stretching it?

didi5 - I used GP for the bow and fondant for the flowing ribbon. I just cut out the ribbon, gently rolled it up, then starting at the top placed it as I unrolled it down the side of the cake, "fluffing" it as I went along. Hope this helps.
